The right strain.
For the right patient.
Every cannabis strain carries a unique terpene fingerprint. By matching that profile to your patient’s specific condition, we move beyond guesswork — and closer to confident, consistent clinical recommendations.

What are terpenes?
Terpenes are aromatic compounds found naturally in plants, fruits and herbs — and they are far more than just scent. In cannabis, they work alongside THC and CBD through the entourage effect, each interacting with the endocannabinoid system in its own way, shaping mood, relaxation, pain response and sleep. Two strains with identical THC percentages can feel entirely different because of their terpene composition. This is why cannabinoid content alone is a poor predictor of patient experience.
Why terpene composition matters
It is not just which terpenes are present — it is how they combine. Certain terpenes work through entirely different receptor pathways, and when they appear together in the right concentrations, they cover multiple biological mechanisms simultaneously. This is called terpene synergy, and it is why two strains with similar terpene names can feel completely different depending on their relative concentrations.
Dual anti-inflammatory coverage through two separate receptor pathways
Emotional and neurological stress relief working in tandem
Physical sedation combined with mental quieting
Why a patient assessment?
Every patient responds differently to cannabis. Tolerance, symptom severity and time of use all shape how a strain will feel. By asking the right clinical questions first, TerpeneMatch narrows the selection to strains most likely to match your patient’s profile — grounded in real, third-party lab-verified terpene data from independent COA analysis.
No two patients are identical. While matching THC, CBD and terpene composition gives you the best possible clinical basis for a recommendation, there is never a guarantee that a patient will respond to a strain in the same way as another. TerpeneMatch is a decision-support tool, not a prescription.
